Get Your Used Inventory in Front of More Eyeballs with CarsDirect Used Listing Syndication

With so much attention on new car sales as a result of Cash for Clunkers, we think now is a good time to remember the importance of your used inventory and ensuring that your used inventory is supported by a solid marketing plan.

We’re constantly working to improve our used car listing products with improvements and new features to help you sell more cars. We’re especially excited about our latest innovation –syndicated used listings on the CarsDirect Automotive Network.

The Automotive Network is our portfolio of more than 90 popular auto enthusiast websites, including well-known names such as AudiWorld.com, ClubLexus.com, CorvetteForum.com, Ford-Trucks.com and ScionLife.com. Our portfolio is one of the largest collections of auto enthusiast sites in the world, and each site is home to a highly engaged group of auto enthusiasts that is passionate about cars.

Earlier this year, we rolled out used inventory listing syndication on many of our enthusiast sites. This gets our dealer partners’ used inventory in front of an expanded audience of highly engaged potential buyers by listing relevant pieces of used inventory on the appropriate enthusiast sites.

For example, our Maxima.org enthusiast site now features a section called “Dealer Listings” which lists only used Maximas listed by our dealer partners. Users can browse listings, and also narrow their search for used Maximas in their area by ZIP code. Our other enthusiast sites feature similar listings, tailored to the make or model each site is dedicated to.

Syndicated listings on our enthusiast sites is a no-charge enhancement to our used product. As always, listing your used inventory with CarsDirect exposes your listings to 25 million monthly online visitors on the CarsDirect.com Used Car Channel and our sister site SellMyCar.com. We think the addition of listings on our enthusiast sites provides even more value for your marketing dollar and, in turn, will help drive more sales.

Can eBay Save General Motors?

Eeneral Motors is turning to eBay (Nasdaq: EBAY) as an outlet to move the cars collecting dust on its dealer lots. Most of the GM showrooms in California will be participating in the trial, starting tomorrow.

Companies have been using the Web for years to move new cars. Autobytel (Nasdaq: ABTL), the media-owned Cars.com, and Internet Brands' (Nasdaq: INET) CarsDirect are popular sites with potential car buyers. Educated consumers no longer need to head to the local lot for a case of sticker shock.

Internet Brands Buys Three Web Sites

Los Angeles-based Internet Brands is continuing to buy up small, vertically focused web sites to add to its various consumer focused content networks, saying Wednesday that it has acquired three websites. The firm said it has acquired BusinessMart.com and BusinessFinance.com for its Money and Business vertical, and KidsCamps.com for its Travel and Leisure vertical. Financial terms of the acquisitions were not disclosed. BusinessMart.com is a marketplace of small businesses for sale; BusinessFinance.com helps small business owners find small business loans and financing; and KidsCamps.com is a directory of summer camps, day camps, and other camps in the U.S.
